Our standards are to teach our athletes how to be better runners, how to set goals and be disciplined, how to work together as a team, have good sportsmanship, take responsibility for themselves, and be a leader. Not to mention, how to have fun and make friends.

Kelly Rock
Head Coach Cross Country, Distance Coach Track
Kelly Rock has been a teacher at Starr’s Mill High School for 18 years, where she teaches both Biology to 9th graders and AP Biology to juniors and seniors. She is married to Chris and has two boys, Tyler and Collin. Tyler runs cross country with Starr’s Mill and also plays travel baseball. Collin plays youth football and travel baseball, as well. Kelly has run in many races for fun and has helped coach with the Peachtree City Flash youth running team when Tyler was a participant.

Chad Walker
Head Coach Track & Field
Chad is starting his thirteenth year as the Boys and Girls head track coach at Starr’s Mill High School and is currently teaching Personal Fitness and Weight Training.
His wife, Krista, is from Fayetteville, and they have three children Raney, Allie, and Bo. He graduated from University of West Georgia in 1996 with a degree in Physical Education and Health. He holds his Masters and a Specialist certification. He had four outstanding years playing football, as a wide receiver while at West Georgia. A few years later he was inducted in the West Georgia Hall of Fame. Chad is a multi-coach: track & field in the spring, two years coaching the cross country team and the last eight years coaching the wide receivers in football.
Chad has been coaching track and field for 20 years. He coached at Wheeler High School from 1997-2005 before coming to Starr’s Mill. While at Wheeler, he coached football and track. Chad has been mentored by some of the best coaches and trained some of the best athletes in track and field.
- Chad worked with Loren Seagrave one of the most renowned speed coaches in the world. He is known for mechanics and his training program. Lorean was a former coach at LSU and is the founder of Velocity Sports Performance.
- Chad coached Reggie Witherspoon in the 400m’s; Witherspoon later went on to run for Baylor University and also competed and earned a Gold medal in the 4x400m relay in 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
- Chad also coached Aries Merritt in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Merritt went on to run for the University of Tennessee. Aries also ran professionally and won the Gold medal in the 110m hurdles at the 2012 London Olympics. Aries also broke the world record in the 110m hurdles in 2012.
Coaching Achievements:
- Led the Wheeler team to their first state Track and Field championship in 2003.
- Two 2nd place at the Girls State Meet as coach at Starr’s Mill.
- One 2nd place at the boys State Meet as coach at Starr’s Mill.
- Six Girls Region Championships as coach at Starr’s Mill.
- Three Boys Region Championships as coach at Starr’s Mill.
- Numerous athletes in track and field earn scholarships and compete at the collegiate level.
Chad believes the best part about track and field is having sixteen different events where student athletes can find some success along the way.

Anne Chrzanowski
Girls XC and Track Distance Coach
Anne has been a Community Coach for the cross-country and track team since 2009. Anne was a swimmer at SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University, where she earned All American Honors and was admitted to the SUNY Potsdam Hall of Fame. Anne ran cross-country and track during high school, and continues to stay active, having competed in Ironman Triathlons including the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
Anne moved to Peachtree City with her husband and two children in 2002. Her husband, Mike, works at Yamaha Manufacturing Motor Company. Their daughter, Nicole, graduated from Starr’s Mill in 2013 and ran xc, track and swam while in high school. Their son, Matthew graduated from Starr’s Mill in 2015 and ran xc and played lacrosse all 4 years.
Anne is a certified coach through USA Track & Field and USA Triathlon.

Don Livingston
Boys XC and Track Distance Coach
Don has been a community coach since 2008, He has coached and competed at all levels: post collegiate, college, high school, and youth. He has coached Starr’s Mill athletes and local youth teams, as well as serving as a coach and instructor at Nike Running Camps.
Don ran track and cross country in high school (Klein Forest, Houston, TX), in college (Georgia Tech), and post collegiately for club teams including Nike- Cincinnati and Atlanta Track Club. While at Georgia Tech, he competed in XC, indoor track, and outdoor track all 5 years. His PRs are:

Don is active in the running community as runner, track fan, and meet director. He has travelled to over 10 NCAA National Championships, 5 US Olympic Trials, and was a track volunteer at the 1996 Olympic Games. He has been a meet director for more than 20 XC meets: Starr’s Mill Panther XC Invite (5 years), Region XC Championships, USATF-GA Youth XC, Elementary XC Championship, and GA High School Meet of Champions.
Don and his wife, Wendy, have lived in Peachtree City since 1993. They have two children, Rebekah, SMHS class of 2013, and Reed, SMHS class of 2016. Reed was a 4-year letterman in both track and cross country for Starr’s Mill. Both attend the University of Georgia. Don graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. He works for AT&T in sales.

Rob Isaac
Jumps Coach
Rob Isaac is in his third year coaching at Starr’s Mill. Rob is a 2008 graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at The Citadel, Rob competed in track all four years while running cross country sophomore through senior years.
Rob currently works at Eaton Corporation within the Residential & Wiring Devices Division. He is married to Jessica Isaac, a Nurse Practitioner at the Southeastern Headquarters for Cancer Treatment Centers of America. The couple has a daughter and son, born in 2015 and 2017.
Rob is a certified USATF Official (apprentice) and has the following personal best times:

Shawn St. Julian
Sprinters Coach
Shawn St. Julian has two daughters who have competed with the SMHS track & field team. Bree St. Julian is a junior, and Elan St. Julian graduated in 2016 from Starr’s Mill. Aside from working with SMHS athletes, Coach St. Julian also coaches young athletes through the Velocity Track Club.
A former professional 200m and 400m runner, Coach St. Julian’s career included membership on the Santa Monica track club, where he trained with Olympians including Carl Lewis and Leroy Burrell. His PRs include 200m at 20.30 and the 400m at 45.45. Coach St. Julian is a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where he studied on a full athletic scholarship and was the team captain for three years. He was the recipient of the MVP award 4 times.

Stephen Shankle
Pole Vault Coach
Coach Shankle has been with the Starr’s Mill High School track and field team, specifically the pole vaulters, for over ten years. Before coming to SMHS, Coach Shankle was the pole vault coach at McIntosh High School in the late nineties. Track and field runs through his genes! His grandfather was a high jumper in college and his father was not only a two time all-American at Duke University but represented the USA at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. There he placed third in the 110 m HHs. Coach Shankle ran track in high school as well as college. He ran the 800m, pole vault, and the decathlon and lettered all four years at Duke. His brother Mike also was on the team and is now a vault coach in Virginia.
Coach Shankle moved to Peachtree City in 1988 after two tours of duty in Europe with the U.S. Air Force. He was hired by Delta Airlines and is now a Captain flying the 737-800. He is married to Miss Elise affectionately known as the “social director” who is a physical therapist for the Clayton County School System. They have three grown sons, two of which ran track for Starr’s Mill in 2005 and 2008.

Kendall McFaddin
Hurdles Coach
Kendall and her husband, Will, moved to Fayetteville seven years ago with their family. They have four children. Avery is 13, Henry is 10, Anna is 8 and Micah is 5.
Kendall grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where she competed in both indoor and outdoor track. She ran the 100m and 300m hurdles in high school, as well as the 400m dash and 1600m relay. She continued running at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. In college, she competed in the 400m hurdles and was a member of the 1600m relay team that won the conference title and participated in the Penn Relays. This is Kendall’s second year coaching. She is very excited to get to know the hurdlers and work with the team this season.

Guy Serapion
Throwing Coach
Coach Serapion is in his tenth year at Huddleston Elementary and his sixth year coaching field events at Starr’s Mill. He is a Fifth Grade Teacher and received his Associates Degree in Science from Georgia Military College, his Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from West Georgia and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Trident University.
He started life in Los Angeles but, through the Grace of God, was relocated to The South prior to starting middle school. He attended Booth Middle School and graduated from Sandy Creek High School. He is married to Nicole and together they have four children. Their daughter Kailani is 15 and a sophomore at Starr’s Mill, their son Makoa is 10 and a fourth grader at Huddleston, their daughter Nani is 6 and in first grade, and in August 2015 they welcomed baby girl Leilani.
Coach Serapion’s love of athletics and coaching comes from his mother who was not only a Physical Education teacher but also an elite athlete. She had a successful career throwing the Javelin, Shot, and Discus. She was a member of the U.S. Track and Field Team and placed fourth in the Javelin in the 1966 World Games. She also played Softball and Volleyball for the University of Southern California. So coaching and athletics are part of Coach Serapion’s DNA.
Coach Serapion has coached for Starr’s Mill for the past six years, coaching the Shot Put and Discus; he also coaches football. He is a member of the Georgia Army National Guard and has deployed to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He believes that sports helped to change his life, and he is dedicated to helping his athletes become better citizens and productive members of society through athletics. He feels blessed that he has the opportunity to work with such fine young men and women.
